STEWARDSHIP

A.     Our Stewardship  The word steward in the New Testament used to describe someone who administers the property of other. God appoints all the born again believers as His stewards. It means that God appoints us over certain resources and things of God as stewards. The born again believers are stewards or managers or administrators over at least following things: 1.       Our Natural talents such as personality, skills, aptitudes. 2.       The truth of Gospel that revealed to us, God’s indwelling Spirit and the gifts received from God. 3.       Possessions acquired during our lifetime. 4.       Time. All these things such as natural talents, Gospel and Holy Spirit, wealth and time are God’s own possessions but God has given them to us for a time. DOCTRINE OF SEPARATION: SEPARATION OF GOD’S PEOPLE

What is the meaning of separation? Separation means 1.       The action or state of moving or being moved apart. 2.       The state in which a husband and wife remain married but live apart: "she and her husband have agreed to a trial separation". As the basic meaning of the word indicates the doctrine of separation means all born again believers need to keep a line of separation in their lives from sinful and ungodly things in this world in order to keep themselves holy to God who is holy. Foundation of the teaching of Separation believers is God’s Holiness Leviticus 11:44-45    44 I am the LORD your God; consecrate yourselves and holy because I am holy. Do not make yourselves unclean by any creature that moves about on the ground.  45 I am the LORD who brought you up out of Egypt to be your God; therefore be holy because I am holy. Leviticus 19:2    2 "Speak to the entire assembly of Israel and say to them: 'Be holy because I, the LORD you

What is Worship?

The best definition of worship seems to be revealed in Revelation 4:9: “And whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him who is seated on the throne, who lives forever and ever.” In this verse three words-glory, honor, thanksgiving- give key aspect of definition of worship. Glory If one considers the meaning of root word of glory and its Hebrew equivalent along with the context of Revelation 4, the word glory implies that worship is nothing but paying respect for the beauty and greatness of God. One can have an orientation to the beauty and greatness of God in Revelation 4. Honor If one analyses, the root word and its Hebrew correspondents in the setting of Revelation 4, it would be suggested that honor means paying or ascribing the great or highest respect to the value and worthiness of God. Thanksgiving ·          Saying Thanks to God for all his Good things Thus, worship means ·          Glory : Paying respect to the beauty and greatnes

Sin of Partiality (James 2.1-13)

Text: James 2.1-13 Partiality is common everywhere. People favour others in unjust way. James addresses this issue. He instructs us that we should not show partiality in the church. People show partiality in the church on the basis of several things such as (James 2.2-3): What people have or have not Who they are or are not How they look or appear In most of the churches and other places, people are valued on the basis of what they have, who they are and how they look. The important sign of sin of partiality is obvious sign of deliberate distinction or status quo that believers maintain among themselves. Why we should not do partiality God has no partiality (Romans 2.11). God created everyone in the image and likeness of God (Gen 1.26). Therefore God values everyone equally. Gospel has levelling effect on any kind of social stratification. Faith in Christ cannot be combined with sin of partiality (James 2.1). When we show partiality, we are not in t
