Growing in Love

Introduction “ And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” (ESV, Mark 12:30-31). We are created by God to receive love and give love. We can experience God’s love and we can love God. Likewise, we can receive love from others and we can love others too. This is the very foundation of Christian life which will be explored in this paper. God is love God is love. He loves us with His everlasting love (Jer.31.3). God’s love is steadfast, everlasting and unconditional. God’s love manifested to us when Jesus died for sinners (1John 4:9). God’s love is self-sacrificing, self-giving, unconditional and unchanging. WHY A BELIEVER SHOULD NOT MARRY AN UNBELIEVER?

Marriage is one of the most important decisions after your decision to live for God. This study basically aims to understand God’s heart for believers’ marriage.   A.     Marriage is God’s work God established marriage in Garden of Eden. God created male and female. He joins a male and female in marriage. So, marriage is completely a work of God (Matthew 19:4-6). B. God’s heart for marriage If God joins a male and female in marriage and marriage is a work of God, then we need to understand what God expects in a marriage from us. Believers should not marry a person who is worshipping idols. In other words, believers should marry only a believer. This fact we can understand from following passages. 1. Abraham insisted that his servant should not get a wife from the Canaanites for his son Isaac because Canaanites were worshipping idols and they did not believe the living God (Genesis 24:1-8).   2. Isaac, son of Abraham also followed the same principle of Abr

It is known in different names such as “Lord’s table” (1Cor 10.21), “Lord’s supper” (1Cor 11.20) and “Holy Communion.”  The phrase “Holy Communion” is derived from the Greek word koinonia (meaning fellowship) in 1Cor 10.16. Jesus established the Lord ’s Supper (Mt 26.26-29). He commands us to observe it (Mt 26.27; 1Cor 11.25). The Lord Supper is both symbolic and affirmative in its meaning. The Symbolism in the Lord’s Supper Matthew 26:26-30    26 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take and eat; this is my body."  27 Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you.  28 This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.  29 I tell you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from
